The particular apartment rented by the couple for 19k a month oozes hip eclectic style with exposed brick walls, fireplaces, beautiful windows and two outdoor spaces.

New York NY Apartments – White Interiors

Today’s feature is some breathtaking contemporary white interior design in New York NY apartments. I love this modern loft with a unique furniture style mix.

This chic interior in this New York NY apartment is mostly white, with unique grey and gold accents. The grey wallpaper design is featured throughout this apartment, with a lovely view over Park Avenue.

Eclectic Interest

Quite an eclectic mix of style and antique wonders bleeds to the artistic in Liza Sherman’s apartment in Manhattan. The legendary antiques dealer is sharp, confident woman, possessing a quirkiness of a woman half her age. Her living space features an Italian daybed with burlap upholstery, a 1950s Hollywood style light, and a train rail cart as a cocktail table.

Her study features a French banner, a floating chair!, a 1940s French floor lamp and a vintage 1950s metal spring chair.  Eclecticism at its finest. Of decor style Sherman says, “I don’t decorate. I see objects and furniture as shapes, lines, and forms,” and that, “Perfect surfaces don’t interest me.”

Sherman’s master bedroom displays a portrait by Liam Ritt, the fireplace mantle serves as a headboard for the bed, a dresser from India along with framed 1920s bathing suits.

The Essence of Purple

Aubergine, violet, amethyst, lavender, lilac, plum, eggplant….whatever the shade, whatever you the dimension, shades of purple are a lovely and elegant statement in decor…

This eclectic dining room of Amy Fine Collin’s shows style in this Park Avenue apartment. Love the mismatched chairs, the fashion illustrations, and this crazy, multi-hued carpet.

Decorator Katie Ridder’s design for this office in a Manhattan apartment is pure elegance. Love the zebra rug addition to this creative color palette.

Kilian and Melonie Hennessy’s Parisian apartment bedroom show dramatic purple impact. Featuring a Gustav Wertheimer painting and Murano glass chandelier that once belonged to Barbara Hutton. Love, love, love it!

Chinatown Loft

Designers Solveig Fernlund and Neil Logan’s Chinatown, NY loft is a statement of simplicity with its openness and fresh minimalist decor. I notice the shoes at the door (a practice we all should incorporate) keeps this stylish apartment clean and welcoming.
Love the open shelf kitchen where dishes offer up great decoration, and the closet door looks like a chalk board. The whole artsy feel is lovely. Check out more pictures and this article at Loft Life.

Celebrity Homes: Keri Russell’s Brooklyn Brownstone

Actress Keri Russell, best known for the series from a few years back called Felicity, (I was an heart-stopping fan!), and her husband Shane Deary purchased this 1860s brownstone that needed a ton of work.  Luckily, Deary is the son of a most respected contractor in Martha’s Vineyard, and an avid carpenter himself. The two, who live here with their young son, renovated the Brooklyn find themselves with lovely results.

Above, the living room features linen upholstered chairs by designers Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams. The rug is from Shaw. Tufted ottoman, which I love, is from John Derian Dry Goods.  Chandelier, from Ochre.

The kitchen cabinets are stained in dark expresso and hand built from wood beams. Russell and Deary go American with the best appliances around; Sub-Zero frige and Viking range. Note the cool drop light fixture by Rejuvenation.

Dining area has original pine floors. The wire chairs around the pine table are fro ABC Carpet & Home.

Gorgeous bath room area features a claw foot tub by Victoria+Albert.

Love the simplicity and uniqueness of the master bedroom. Matteo bedding and fabric headboard.  Ikea sheepskin rug. Benjamin Moore paint in Stone Hearth on walls adds a soft touch to bring out the trim. And of course I love the antique chandelier.

Alexis Stewart’s Tribeca Loft

Alexis Stewart, daughter of home-decorating giant, Martha Stewart, is selling her Tribeca loft.  This breath-taking minimalist domain is on the market for the lowered price of $9.5 milliion.  With 4,000 square feet of living space, one could move about freely.  The openness, the clean white surfaces, and the solarium ceiling in the living room keeps the space feeling fresh and renewed.
